If you search on Google or Bing for images to use on your website you could (probably**) be breaking the law. Some people are quite aware of this but others are not so aware.

Why you could be breaking the law

The images displayed on Google and Bing (many other sites too) are usually protected by copyright and are not free to be used as anybody wishes. It may seem misleading because these images are free to view. It’s often the case that they’re okay to be viewed but that’s as far as it goes.

Websites where you can download images for free

We’ve found that you can download images for free on https://pixabay.com/

These images all seem to be pretty good quality, Pixabay also offer these images in a range of sizes which is good because choosing the right size can have a serious impact on how blurry an image is displayed and how quickly your website takes to load – As a side note it’s always good to use compression for images that are going on websites, for this we recommend https://tinypng.com/

So there you go, always use copyright free images.
